Forward your calls to VoiceMenus: Verizon
What forwarding does
Forwarding means: when you do not pick up, your phone company sends the call to your VoiceMenus number instead of its own voicemail. Your phone still rings first. You keep your number. You can turn it off any time.
Turn it on
You will dial a short code on your phone, like you would dial a phone number.
- Open your Phone app and use the keypad (not your contacts).
- Dial
*71YOUR VOICEMENUS NUMBER:*71followed by your VoiceMenus number, all ten digits with no spaces. - Press Call. You will hear a short tone or a recorded message. Hang up.
Calls you do not answer (or miss because you are on another call) now go to VoiceMenus. Verizon rings about 3 to 6 times first; you cannot change that.
If you want every call to go to VoiceMenus (your phone will not ring): dial *72YOUR VOICEMENUS NUMBER instead.
Xfinity Mobile and Spectrum Mobile use the same codes. Visible may only offer "busy" and "forward all".
Turn it off
Dial *73 and press Call. Wait for the tone, hang up. Your regular Verizon voicemail works again.
If it does not work
- Use all ten digits, including the area code.
- Do it from the phone itself, not from your computer. Be where you have a Verizon signal.
- iPhone: turn off Live Voicemail (Settings, then Phone, then Live Voicemail) and try again.
- Still stuck? Call Verizon at 800-922-0204 and ask them to turn on "call forwarding, no answer / busy" to your VoiceMenus number.
We're still confirming this step with a real account. If what you see is different, email support@voicemenus.com and we'll update this page.
Test it
Call your business number from a different phone and do not answer. After the rings, you should hear your VoiceMenus menu. If you hear your old voicemail, or nothing, the setting did not take. Try again, or tell us your carrier and we will help.
Heads up: your carrier may bill forwarded calls like any other call on your plan. Most plans with unlimited minutes cost nothing extra.
